Cambridge Aero Instruments is now the largest manufacturer of glider instruments in the world. CAI was not only the first to introduce a "modern" flight computer in 1979, they were the first to invent and then build the GPS secure flight Logger. Dave Ellis was awarded an OSTIV award in 1997 for his development of the Data Logger. It will probably be as significant a change to our sport as the invention of the first vario. Time will tell soon. The product line of simple varios, flight computers, and GPS data loggers should cover everyone from first vario to World champion. Their full line of instruments are both excellent quality and moderately priced. The level of service available to US customers is simply not available in any other brand on this side of the ocean!
